Satellites
I was already actively involved in radio operations on the first OSCAR satellites. Occasionally, I am still active on FM satellites or via the ISS in packet radio.
Since October 2025, I have been receiving LoRa satellites in the UHF band via a Lilygo LoRa and an Eggbeater antenna (see photo above left) in my garden and sending the data to TinyGS: https://tinygs.com/station/DL9DAK@-JGr_kMiyHMj9znk
For many years, I have also been receiving and collecting telemetry data on 145 MHz from Funcube AO-73 and, earlier, Nayif-1 EO-88 and JY1Sat JO-97 when they were still in orbit. The receiving station is relatively simple, consisting of a FunCube USB stick on a mini Windows PC, with a TA-1 turnstile antenna (see photo above right) and a bias tee preamp preamplifier from SSB.
In total, I have received more than 400,000 telemetry data packets and am ranked among the top 65 of approximately 1,500 radio amateurs who provide telemetry data to the AMSAT-UK Data Warehouse.
